Stop Crying, Start Up Something Today: Youth Unemployment

Image
I am being compelled to take  this pain off my chest and express my views about youth unemployment both in Uganda and world over. For a very long time Unemployment has been a challenge to many nations all over the world. This challenge got  worse when the Credit Crunch hit the world economy, as a result  Companies started down sizing their employees so as to survive and Governments efforts  to employ the youths greatly dwindled. Its very shocking that since 2007 the situation has just worsened than improving. The United Nations through the International Labor Organization just predicted that by end of this year there will be 74.2 million unemployed youths. This is an increase of 3.8 million youths since 2007. Irrespective of what the situation is, Uganda and Africa still has the potential to employ its youths only if a few reforms are made as I suggest a head in this article. You can agree or disagree with me that the problem of Youth Unemployment starts immediately students re

COMBINE SOCIAL MEDIA WITH OTHER FORMS OF MARKETING

Image
Social media may have transformed the way we do business but it hasn't replaced other forms of marketing altogether. And it calls for the same rigour as the rest of your marketing strategy. In this article I  explain how to combine your online and offline marketing activities. Small firms using social media need to set objectives, plan their approach and make sure it dovetails with their overall marketing strategy. Like any marketing initiative, getting results can take time and you may find that you are spending a lot of time online and neglecting other tasks as a result. SMALL-SCALE ENTERPRISES CAN FIGHT FIT IN A GLOBLIZING ECONOMY USING SOCIAL MEDIA

Image
Small-scale enterprises have an important role in almost all sectors – agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries, forestry, industry, services, etc. – and in some countries they form the basis of livelihoods for most of the population. Traditionally most small enterprises have been designed to meet the demand from local markets. Going beyond the local markets requires up-scaling in the volume or value of production . In a business environment that is primarily oriented towards the development of large enterprises, small enterprises operate on an uneven playing field. Image
The date was December 2010 when I got myself signed up on Twitter a platform that was completely new to my life. Little did I know that I was watching Gold but did not know how to dig it out. It’s not surprising that there are many individuals out there who actually have been through the same state. For the first two years I actually thought Social Media was a waste of time until I actually got my first job of process minding at a spirits production company in 2011.
