Over the 2nd last weekend of May 2019 I visited the western part of Uganda to meet up with other Ugandans using technology to do business and execute their day to day jobs under a social event dubbed Ugandans On Technology Night ( #UOTNightWesternUg). This event is a social networking event that brings together people doing business on digital platforms so as to enhance physical relationships and also to foster stronger networking between individuals doing different activities online. There is a truth that many of us know is real but we are being reluctant to believe that its not a passing fad, that truth is the Internet and how it's steadily affecting and changing every aspect of human life from the food we eat to the transport systems, communication and health research. Developing economies are spending more money into designing programs based on the internet so as to improve the economic and social status of their people although this is not a strategy that has been ado...

How to help your Employees know your Brand Story.

Image
Many times brands and businesses employ people everyday throughout the year but many of these employees stay in these companies for the sake of having got a job and their core results is the salary paid to them. In fact if you were to do a survey in most of the companies around your location, you would discover that almost 80% of the employees do not know their company's Mission and Vision statements. There is a reason why i do not agree sometimes with companies that hire special brand ambassadors besides their employees to create more brand awareness by telling the brand story to the world. You and me know when employees leave the business premises , they too interact with a huge number of people, from family members to friends and strangers. Hence taking measures to teach all your employees your brand story will equally bring you results just like the hired third party ambassadors. But how exactly can employers encourage their staff to learn and tell the brand story, the ...

Influencers will have more power than internal brand marketing teams. 3. Brands will need to start fully rebranding to products that relate to their customers and their passions. For example CocaCola producing customized Coke bottles for influential figures and their fans like Ugaman Coke. 4. Let me make this clear, the biggest asset we all trade in on Social Media is the Attention of customers and fans. The faster brands learn this the...

The Behavior of Millenials in the Digital Age.

Image
Let me start by defining Millenials in a simpler and clear way for everyone to understand. Millenials are youths both female and male that were born between 1984 to around 1994. Its complicated to learn and understand this group but it has even become harder in the social media age. Talk to any current CEOs about employing these young people and then they will express their excitement by emphasizing how good they are at technology and how miserable they are at EQ (Emotional Intelligence) and work behavior. But what is the real challenge affecting today's youths? You may doubt it but here is my take on what I think is the prime problem; the youths have been lied to that all is simple and that they can live a fancy lifestyle without struggles. This behavior is particularly exhibited in the way youths interpret  the meaning of success and how fast they want to live a flamboyant lifestyle without putting in the work. If you have been watching the so called motivati...

Instead, focus on creating a regular cadence of content that’s relevant to your target audience and authentic to your business. Need some inspiration? Here are five best practices to help you create Tweets that spark conversations and keep your audience engaged. 1.Keep it short. A concise Tweet makes an impact. Keep each Tweet focused on one specific message rather than trying to communicate multiple things. You can include a link to a blog post or website if you have a longer message to convey. 2.Use visuals in your Tweets. Adding a bold image, video, or GIF to your Tweets adds a touch of personality, and leads to higher Tweet engagement rates.
