BECOMING A GREAT LEADER

Image
Ladies and gentlemen leadership has so many definitions but to me i will define leadership as the power to influence and cause a change in people's lives. In addition to that, leadership to make clear meaning to society then it has to cause a positive impact in their lives. Today I am going to discuss with you how to become a great leader that can change and touch the lives of millions of people.   There are so many styles of leadership that one can adopt and then drive society to where they want it to be but to me these are the ones that I consider best; 1. Leading Quietly( Quiet Leadership) 2. Charismatic Leadership (Leading by Charisma) 3. Shared Leadership 4. Traditional Leadership For the purpose of this article I am going to concentrate on the Shared Leadership style which in its implementation contains Quiet Leadership and Charismatic Leadership. Unlike the traditional leadership that simply concentrates on maintaining what is already in existence but does

9 QUALITIES OF A TRULY CONFIDENT PERSON

Image
First things first: Confidence is not bravado, or swagger, or an overt pretense of bravery. Confidence is not some bold or brash air of self-belief directed at others. Confidence is quiet : It’s a natural expression of ability, expertise, and self-regard. I’m fortunate to know a number of truly confident people.  But the majority are people I’ve met through my career and who work in a variety of industries and professions. It comes as no surprise they all share a number of qualities: 1. They take a stand not because they think they are always right… but because they are not afraid to be wrong. Cocky and conceited people tend to take a position and then proclaim, bluster, and totally disregard differing opinions or points of view. They know they’re right – and they want (actually they need ) you to know it too. Their behavior isn’t a sign of confidence, though; it’s the hallmark of an intellectual bully. Truly confident people don’t mind being proven wrong. They fe

POOR FOUNDATION,POOR LEADERSHIP

Sadly , in college classes today, few students learn the leadership skills they need for their future jobs or to serve their communities.   In most universities, the development of student leadership skills is not part of the academic curriculum but relegated to “extra-curricular” activities — i.e., it is regarded as part of students’ non-academic activities in clubs and organizations. Today countries across the world cry of poor economic performance as a major challenge today, in spite of the fact that the tough economic times are biting hard today, the Fact is countries lose billions of money to corrupt government officials. In my culture there is a saying that you can not start climbing a tree from the branches and you expect to have a successful end. Quite often i hold conversations with my peers as we discuss what the possible causes of poor leadership could be and the most definite answer is  poor upbringing of individuals but to me i say its as a result of poor lead

TRAINED STUDENTS LEADERS MAKE BETTER FUTURE LEADERS

Ask staff from community organizations about what they feel students need to learn in college, and you will hear a common answer:   Students need to learn leadership skills.   They need to learn leadership skills in college, so that they can help their communities.   Surprisingly, this same answer is heard when personnel managers of both big and small companies are asked to identify qualities they look for in hiring recent college graduates.   They also rank a job candidate’s leadership skills as the main factor in hiring.   As we will see later, community groups and companies have a definition of leadership that is different from the prevailing definition. Community groups and companies equate leadership with the ability to work well with other people.   Later, we will see why this expanded understanding of leadership is so significant for our world today. Sadly, in college classes today, few students learn the leadership skills they need for their future jobs or to serv

CAREER GUIDANCE AS A TOOL TO SUCCESS

Image
I can not forget the time i thought i would be a pilot when i grow up,so much i always thought that was my calling and dream not until the time to make a choice of which combination to pursue at High School Level. In Africa, the education curriculum still follows the 1900 system that was introduced by the colonial masters at the time. No wonder the wrong choices and decisions that  that we make during our education journey. The question would be ,how do we make career choices? A career is a path that one decides to take in life, just like any other paths of life. The moment a wrong path is taken, the the destination is not certain and that's exactly how education is. Today so many children start school at the age of three while still very young hoping to be guided through by their teachers and parents which at times is all futile. Career guidance is mandatory if children are to make the right choices in life and then create a clear path for a successful life. My advice

HELP A CHILD SURVIVE

NEVER UNDER ESTIMATE CUSTOMER POWER

Image
The reason why some companies survive and others fail is all attached to treatment of their customers.Today i am going to share with you why Google, Toyota and Microsoft and many other companies have managed to survive the storms of the world economy. You might ask yourself a question whats so common between all these companies? The answer is clear and simple ,All of them respect the words "OUR CUSTOMER"OUR CLIENT" Its solely an obligation of the company to ensure that they maintain their customers but also to acquire new customers. Its not until you come to agree with the saying that a customer is boss that you can still be docile about the issues affecting your clients.                                                                                             Mwebya Fred
