Why Ecommerce is the future and reasons every business must fall in.

Over the 2nd last weekend of May 2019 I visited the western part of Uganda to meet up with other Ugandans using technology to do business and execute their day to day jobs under a social event dubbed Ugandans On Technology Night ( #UOTNightWesternUg). This event is a social networking event that brings together people doing business on digital platforms so as to enhance physical relationships and also to foster stronger networking between individuals doing different activities online.

There is a truth that many of us know is real but we are being reluctant to believe that its not a passing fad, that truth is the Internet and how it's steadily affecting and changing every aspect of human life from the food we eat to the transport systems, communication and health research. Developing economies are spending more money into designing programs based on the internet so as to improve the economic and social status of their people although this is not a strategy that has been adopted by many African countries.

Even though it is a known fact that many African governments have not fully embraced the internet for different reasons most outstanding being fear of political interest compromise, its upon the companies and entrepreneurs to start preparing for the future of technology in business by joining the E-commerce train that has slowly but steadily deepened.

I am very glad that more and more Ugandan businesses are waking up to this fact that the internet can make doing business cheaper and effective. As times change people are becoming more sensitive about the amount of time spent doing some things and as a result the internet has without a doubt provided some of the most important innovations to help people achieve their results. Think about businesses like Uber, Safeboda, Mumzstore, Alibaba and many others.

Today Ugandans can now efficiently and effectively do online shopping on platforms like Mumzstore which makes home shopping a great experience. I therefore call upon all Ugandan business owners to start laying strategies for their businesses to tap into the future of internet and E-commerce.
